OFF-ROAD TRAILS

There are too many trails nearby to list all of them. Most of these listed below are networks of different trails and can be accessed from the same starting point.

Red Cone / Webster Pass / Handcart Gulch

    • One of the most iconic trails in central Colorado with spectacular 360 views of the divide
    • Traverse the ridge lines above 12,000 feet with views for miles with a steep, one-way descent at the end 
    •  Key connecting trail to nearby trails, such as the Montezuma trail system. Combining this with those trails creates a full day of offroad fun. 
    •  Handcart Gulch is one of the most notorious white-knuckle shelf roads above treeline. The climb is thrilling and intense, demanding constant focus as the road clings to the mountainside. Sweeping alpine vistas and jagged ridgelines
    • Large rocks, steep cliffs, narrow bumpy trails...hard to pass OTHER VEHICLES IN AREAS
    • Not recommended for beginners 

    Georgia Pass Trail Network

      • 45 mins from our location in the White River National Forest
      • Passes over the Continental Divide and into Breckenridge, reaching up to 12,600 ft in altitude 
      • Access many trails including Middle & North Fork of Swan River, SOB Hill, Saints John, Prospect Hill, Deer Creek,  Rock Island, American Gulch & more!
      • Several old mine sites & cabins along the way
      • Breath-taking 360 views of mountains
      • Keep an eye out for elk, moose, deer, mountain goats, bears

      Geneva Creek / Upper Geneva

        •  30 minutes away
        • Journey through striking alpine landscapes topped with a healthy dose of Colorado mining history. 
        • Ride through a peaceful valley popular for dispersed camping and climb to elevations above 11,000 feet, where you can explore weathered remains of mining structures and seasonal towns that are now relics of Colorado’s gold rush days. 
        • Many spots to hike to natural marvels unique to only a handful of places on Earth: iron-rich wetlands that create an otherworldly scene with vibrant, rust-colored hues against lush greens and mountain tops. 

        Kenosha Pass Trail Network

          • 25 minutes away
          • Network of fun, easier trails with great views of Kenosha pass
          • Explore Pike & San Isabel National Forests with very few people and lots of dispersed camping. 
          • Pass through aspen groves and beaver ponds along Hoosier Creek. Good brook trout fishing.  
          • Mostly smooth open terrain with some hill climbs and water crossings. 
          • Plenty of moose in the area and nearby to Jefferson Lake. 

          Tarryall Reservoir Trails / Badger Flats OHV

            • 1 hour from our location
            • Many trails and dispersed campsites
            • Good fishing at Tarryall Reservoir and Tarryall Creek
            • China Wall
            • Very OHV friendly: easy trailer parking and loading/unloading area, safe street crossings
            • Lots of elk, deer, pronghorn, moose

            Slaughterhouse Gulch

              • 15 minutes away
              • 11 mile loop with some difficult obstacles and rocky climbing sections 
              • Limited views but it does offer beautiful aspen groves that turn gold in the fall
              • Experience is recommended for ATVs and dirtbikes due to steep sections, large rocks and seasonal stream crossings

              Lost Park Road

                Argentine Pass

                  •  1 hour from our location
                  • Steep  and rocky near top
                  • Mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears

                  Taylor Park Reservoir

                    Estes Park

                      NEARBY TRAILS, RIVERS, LAKES & CAMPSITES

                      These are ONLY SOME of the more popular places to ride, fish, kayak, hike, camp, etc. 

                      There are many more options, so give us a call and we can help you choose the one that is best for YOU. 


                      Don't fall for the paid campsites with no views and lots of rules. We can tell you exactly where to camp for free. Whether you want to camp close to water, right off the trail, far away from others, mountain views or all of the above... give us a call for more recommendations.
