Our History
Tyler Stitt (owner) grew up with a passion for nature and exploring the outdoors. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Tyler chased his dreams by moving to Colorado to live in the mountains. He loved to share his love for adventure by taking friends and family on camping trips filled with ATV rides, fishing, mountain biking and more. His dream was for everyone to have the opportunity to experience the thrill of riding mountains, reeling in a fish from a kayak, sleeping under the stars and seeing all the amazing wildlife of Colorado.
Tyler spent every day exploring the mountains and sharpening his knowledge of the backcountry and its many recreational activities. As Tyler's personal collection of outdoor gear grew, so did his desire to share these experiences with others. While exploring trails near home in Bailey, CO, he realized that the only people that were able to experience these amazing views and abundant wildlife were locals that could afford to purchase and store their offroad vehicles or tourists that would have to drive at least an hour from the closest rental shops in Denver, Buena Vista or Breckenridge. Unfortunately, most of the offroad rental shops only rent vehicles, not the small stuff like gear for camping, fishing, hiking, biking, watercraft etc. These items are often crucial to outdoor activities and would otherwise have to be purchased by tourists and either taken back home or discarded.
In 2022, Rocky Mountain Outdoor Rentals was created so that anyone could experience the joys of these Colorado adventures without having to commit to purchasing, storing, maintaining or traveling with the expensive vehicles/gear.
After 3 years of providing unforgettable experiences, we continue to bring customers closer to nature by offering the largest selection of outdoor activities under one roof. With our products and knowledge of the area, there is no need to waste time and money renting/buying from anywhere else. We have everything you could possibly need for your next adventure (including recommendations) ... all in one place.

Tyler's wife, Whitney, graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in parks, recreation and tourism. Whitney owns Candlelight Events, a well-known event planning company that specializes in mountain weddings. She offers free trip planning for anyone who chooses to rent with Rocky Mountain Outdoor Rentals. She is great at choosing the best trails/lakes/campsites based on your desired dates and activities.
